The Town of West Hartford worked with Peregrine Energy Services Group, of Boston, Mass., to survey all our buildings to identify preliminary energy efficiency opportunities. Peregrine was hired through a regional grant effort between the five towns of West Hartford, Farmington, Bloomfield, Avon, and Simsbury (read more).

In late June 2012, with Peregrine's assistance, the Town of West Hartford issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Energy Performance Contracting Services jointly with the Towns of Bloomfield and Simsbury. Seven (7) firms responded to the RFQ. In August 2012, Ameresco, Inc. was selected as the winning proposer. The Town is about the contract with Ameresco for the initial Investment Grade Audit (IGA) phase of a performance contract.
