Yard Waste Collection

Starting July 1, 2019, the Town of West Hartford will offer residents a biweekly way to get rid of yard waste. Items such as leaves, grass clippings, and shrubbery trimmings will be collected in bio-degradable paper bags weighing less than 50 lbs.  Residents also have the option to purchase a 96 gallon cart for the yard waste. The new service begins July 1 and will continue through October 31. In future years, the program will run April 1 through October 31. Yard waste will be collected on the same day as bi-weekly recycling on the A-B schedule. Click here for the A-B schedule. Click here to find your recycling day.

Residents can purchase carts for $73.12. The carts will be delivered by August 2019.  Residents will own and maintain their carts.  To purchase a cart online click here.

The carts will be for yard waste only.
