COVID-19 UPDATE

Town Hall offices are working in a virtual manner and remain closed to the public for an indefinite period of time. To facilitate the delivery of services to residents, property owners and business owners, we encourage all Engineering Division related inquiries for service to be conducted via email with Duane Martin, Town Engineer, at duanem@WestHartfordCT.gov or via phone at 860-561-7539.

All Contractor License, Street Excavation Permit, and Driveway Permit documents, and related fees, should be submitted via mail:

The Engineering Division evaluates and designs improvements to the Town’s roadways, sidewalks, and traffic control systems (signs, signals, pavement markings).

The Engineering Division prepares surveys, design plans, specifications and cost estimates for proposed capital improvements which may include roadways, sidewalks, storm drainage, curbing, drainage culverts, bridges and traffic signals. In addition, the staff reviews plans for private development in conjunction with the Planning and Zoning Division.
