Inspections are performed to assure safe and sanitary living conditions are met in accordance to local codes, state statutes and state regulations. Activites include complaint investigation, targeted neighborhood assessments aimed to avoid prolonged deferral of maintenance of reported child with an elevated blood lead level resides.
Staff provides opportunities on a scheduled clinic basis for tuberculosis skin testing, immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, pertussis, tentanis and polio for residents of the district or persons attending school in the district over age 4. The clinic focuses on both school age and adults. The program also provides worker related immunizations for all of the above and Hepatitis B by agreement with the employers in the district.
Food establishment plan reviews for new, renovated or altered establishments would be performed. Food licenses are issued at a fee for establishments in compliance to the Connecticut Public Health Code. Routine inspections and re-inspections are performed throughout the District.Temporary events would alos be subject to review, licensing and inspection.
