Christmas Tree Collection from January 2nd 2018 until January 16th 2018

The annual Christmas tree collection program by the Public Works Department will begin on Tuesday, January 2nd and run through Tuesday, January 16th.  Residents in the Monday and Tuesday refuse collection areas should have their trees at the curb by 6 am for Christmas trees to be collected during the first week.

Residents do not have to wait for their trash day to put the trees out as DPW may get ahead of schedule. The Town will be making a sweep through the town twice and we may get ahead of schedule, weather permitting the collection will end on Tuesday January 16, 2018. The collection will conclude once DPW makes two passes through town.

The collection will proceed from the Monday refuse collection area into the Tuesday refuse collection area, then into the Wednesday refuse collection area and so on until crews make two complete passes of the Town.

Residents are reminded that the trees are recycled into wood chips. Therefore, please remove any plastic bags, ornaments, lights or stands from your tree before you place it at the curb.

Please help us during snowstorms by removing your tree from the side of the road.

Residents may also bring their trees to the town Recycling Center at 25 Brixton Center from Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Please note, there are no weekend hours at the Recycling Center from December 23rd until April.

Please call the Department of Public Works at 561-8100 if you have any questions.
