Yard Waste Collection

Starting July 1, 2019, the Town of West Hartford will offer residents a biweekly way to get rid of yard waste. The new service begins July 1 and will continue through October 31. In future years, the program will run April 1 through October 31. Yard waste collection will be on the same day as recycling collection on the A-B schedule every other week.  Click here to find your recycling day.  Click here for the A-B schedule.

Yard waste should be placed in 30-gallon biodegradable leaf bags and placed at the curb on the same day as your recyclables. Brush must be cut to four-foot lengths, tied and bundled.

Residents also have the option to purchase a 96-gallon cart for yard waste. The cart is the equivalent of three, 30-gallon bags. The cost to purchase the cart is $73.12 and residents own and maintain their carts. Carts will be available for delivery in August.
