An annual permit is required to use the facility. Permits can be conveniently purchased at the recycling facility directly from Supreme Forest Products at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center at 25 Brixton Street (formerly Envirocycle). Please note: From October 28th through December 16th the Yard Waste Center has extended Saturday hours from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Beginning Dec 23rd until April 7, 2018 the Yard Waste Center will be closed on Saturdays.

There is an annual permit fee to use the facility. This includes dropping off paint, electronics and mattresses and box springs. Once you have a permit, the disposal of mattresses, box springs, paint and electronics is free.
Permits to use the Yard Waste & Recycling Center will be available mid-March.
Commercial Yard Waste Recycling Center Hours
The operator of the Yard Waste and Recycling Center (Supreme Forest Products) also accepts waste from commercial landscapers and other commercial entities for a fee. Click here to see the hours for commercial hours.
-Used motor oil, used anti-freeze (must be left in non-returnable containers)
-Dirt, concrete, rocks & stones (free of metal)
-Leaves (delivered in bulk or 30 gal biodegradable paper bags– no plastic bags accepted)
-Brush (no greater than 6 in in diameter and 4 feet in length)
-Household recycling items (cardboard, boxboard, paper, plastics #’s 1-7, food, glass, and metal containers)
-Textiles: Bay State Textiles, Inc. now provides textile recycling at West Hartford’s transfer station. Items that can be recycled include bed sheets, pillow cases, blankets, comforters, belts, boots, coats, curtains, draperies, dresses, flip flops, hats, jackets, jeans, jerseys, pajamas, pants, purses, shirts, shoes, shorts, skirts, socks, stuffed animals, suits, sweaters, sweatpants, sweatshirts, table linens, ties, and undergarments. Worn, torn ripped and stained items are also acceptable.
- Mattresses and Box Springs- Residents can drop off mattresses and box springs at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center. The mattresses and box springs can not be wet or weathered.
-Electronics Recycling- Residents can bring their computers, monitors, televisions, VCR’s DVD Players, PDA’s copiers, microwaves, telephones, and other small appliances to the Town’s Yard Waste and Recycling center for recycling. Items not accepted under the residential electronics recycling program include smoke detectors, hazardous materials and liquids, and air conditioners.
