Are you in need of food?

West Hartford Social Services maintains a large, well-stocked food pantry of non-perishable food items.  Residents are eligible to use the food pantry once a month as needed. In order to use the food pantry, residents will need to provide a photo id and a recent utility bill/piece of mail showing a West Hartford address.  Additional information such as income and household size, may also be required and can be discussed with a staff member.

There are two options for using the food pantry ...

 Option 1
Residents may use the food pantry
once per month to receive a pre-packed bag
of groceries containing healthy, essential food items.
Click here for a list of items commonly found in our pre-packed bags.

Option 2
Due to personal and cultural preferences, we also host a
self-select pantry every Wednesday from 9 am to 12:45 pm
for residents who would like to choose items to best benefit their family’s needs.
This option is also limited to once a month.
