Our Counselor-in-Training II - Advanced Camp is designed for energetic and motivated teenagers who want to help younger people develop leadership skills while working with children in a day camp setting. As an Advanced CIT you will be held to the same expectations of staff, including attending all mandatory meetings. Advanced CIT's are expected to meet with Instructor in June in order to go over lesson plans and receive placements. Advance CIT's will co-teach pre-designed lessons to the Beginner CIT's while gaining mentoring and leadership skills. Advanced CIT's will also gain hands-on experience engaging with campers in our many different camps. They will spend the first half of the day teaching Beginner CIT's in workshops and working in our camps. While the second half of the day will be geared towards field trips, fun skill building activities, and swimming at Beachland Park pool. (Please see weekly trips listed below). The goals of this program are to provide teens with the training and skills to become effective leaders, mentors, and Counselors. This program prepares teens for future work experience, motivates them to be effective role models resulting in a fun and productive summer, and is a great resume builder! Interested candidates will need to complete and application and return to our main office. Please call our office to attain an application.
