    392983 - SAFE BOATING/PERSONAL WATERCRA

    Ahoy, mates! Calling all boaters! Upon completing this 3-day course, the participant will have satisfied CT DEEP's requirements and be able to subsequently apply for a certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation (the cost to apply is $50 and NOT inlcluded in class fee). A safe Boating Certificate will be issued at the end of the course and will allow an individual over the age of 10 to operate any recreational vessel registered in CT (except a personal watercraft--i.e., a Jet Ski-type vessel) on CT waters. Upon application and receipt of a Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, an individual would be allowed to operate ANY recreational vessel, including a personal watercraft. Anyone under the age of 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Sail on over to ESC and sign up today!! Instructor: CT DEEP.

    Join us for a series of open discussions in the Vegetable Garden at Westmoor Park. Bring your questions, concerns, puzzles, and queries, along with photos of your garden, and photos of any problems, insects, or diseases, and we will tackle them in order! Each session will have a timely seasonal topic, such as which plants to plant when, but any questions or discussion would be welcome. For adults and families. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. All particpants must be registered.
    Section A: Starting seeds under lights and soil testing. Section B:Vertical gardening, and planting tomatoes, peppers and squash. Section C: Mulching, watering, and signs of problems. Section D: Insects and Diseases. Section E: Crop rotation, cover crops, and "green manure". Sign up for the series at a discount. No class July 4.
