On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the West Hartford Police Department and the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District will coordinate National Take-Back Day.
The event provides an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction.
Collection activities will take place in the Department of Public Works, 17 Brixton Street, from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will be on hand to take items from your vehicle.
The program is anonymous. Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules accepted. Not acceptable medication includes intra-venous solutions, injectable medicines, and needles. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative.
