The Yale Data-Driven Environmental Solutions Group has developed scorecards that evaluate how each Connecticut municipality supports residential solar photovoltaic deployment. West Hartford was ranked 15 out of 169 towns in the state with a total score of 76 out of 100. The scorecards provide a benchmark of where municipalities have excelled at supporting residential solar PV and where they can improve. Scores are given in five categories: solar adoption, clean energy engagement, information availability, permit process and permit time and cost. For more information visit: www.ctsolarscoreboard.com.
West Hartford has 12 solar photovoltaic (PV) projects installed and more in development. The installed projects total nearly 1 MW and produce over 1 million kWh of electricity a year.
The electricity produced by these solar arrays helps the Town meet its annual clean energy commitments.
