The West Hartford Engineering Division annually rates the condition of the Town’s roadways.  Roadway paving is planned based on roadway conditions, utility coordination and available funding.  More information can be found here.

Driveway permits are required for all driveway work in the public Right of Way and on private property except for driveway sealant and/or driveway patching work.

Structural maintenance of sidewalks in the public Right of Way are the responsibility of the Town of West Hartford.  Per Town ordinance, removal of snow and ice from public sidewalks is the responsibility of the abutting property owner.  Snow and ice must be removed from the sidewalk within 12 hours after the storm or sunrise, whichever is later.
