West Hartford's Online Permit Portal

We are pleased to offer our residents, businesses, and visitors access our new online permitting portal.  

Permit applicants will now be required to use our CityView Permit Online Portal for all submissions. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.

  • Apply for building, zoning, and engineering permits
  • Register as a Contractor
  • Submit land use applications
  • Track project status
  • View permit status
  • Receive real-time inspection results
  • Pay all fees online 

To use all the services and features the online portal offers, you must register and create a user account.  Users can logon and work on the permit over a period of time.  Information is saved after each visit so users can pick-up where they previously left off. Important documents can be uploaded and fees are automatically and correctly calculated. Users complete the transaction with a credit card payment. Once the permit is submitted, users can logon and track its progress. A history of all transactions are kept in the users account.  

A computer kiosk is available in each of the three offices so people can apply for a permit in person.  Staff is happy to assist and answer questions.
