Drainage Study Phase II
The Town of West Hartford consultant, CDM Smith, completed this storm drainage study. Several areas within the study area experience continual street and basement flooding. The purpose of the study is to identify the extent of the deficiencies in the existing Town storm drainage system that result in street flooding. The Phase II study includes areas 4, 5, and 6 (See Map).
The drainage study collected, reviewed, and analyzed existing data, including available plans, aerial photography, topographic mapping, and storm pipe video assessments for the project area. Based on the data collected, a drainage model of the existing storm drainage system will be developed. The objectives of the study are to reduce the occurrences of street and basement flooding if possible and disconnect “clean water” from the sanitary sewer system and connect it into the storm drainage system.
Phase II of the study, which started in October of 2020 is complete.
