Busy Bees & Mini Busy Bees Summer Camp

Morning Drop Off

• To ease traffic congestion and expedite the drop off process, please use the Busy Bees valet drop off in the ECC Roundabout each morning.
• Drop off is between 8:25 am and 8:50 am and a Busy Bees staff member will check your child in and help get them to their classroom.
• If you plan to arrive after 8:50, please park your car in the parking lot (not the roundabout) and escort your child into the building and sign in with the Busy Bees staff.

Afternoon Fun Drop Off

• Please park your car in a parking space (not the roundabout) and bring your child into the building to sign in.
• Drop off is between 12:55P and 1:15P.

Afternoon Pick Up

• If the weather is nice, pick up will be in our outdoor play area. Please park your car in a parking space (not the roundabout) and sign your child out between 3:45 – 4:00P.
• Should you arrive before we transition the children outside, please go to your child’s camp room and sign them out.
•  In the event of inclement weather, we will hold pick up in our camp rooms.

Extended Day Pick Up

• The ECC Aftercare program runs from 4:00 – 5:30 M-F. Please search ECC Aftercare on RecDesk to enroll in this affordable supervised aftercare program. This is a supervised activity time with no scheduled programming.
• Please park your car in a designated parking space (not the roundabout) and enter the building for pick up.
• Please see Late Pick Up Policy and Fees below.

Busy Bees ends at 4:00P and ECC Extended Day ends at 5:30P and children must be signed out of there respective programs by these times or Late Pick Up Fees will be incurred. We do understand that things come up, so we have a 5-minute courtesy window for sign out. If you are running late, please call the main office at 860-561-8160 so staff can make personal arrangements and we can help your child manage their expectations.

Late Pick Up Fees

Families signing out late are subject to removal from the program without refund. Late fee payments must be made at the time of pick up. There will be no exceptions or warnings about late fees. If you are late for ANY reason, there will be a charge. This No Exception policy makes it easier for us to apply the late policy consistently and fairly. If this becomes a frequent problem, we reserve the right to dismiss a family from the program.

• Water bottle - Water fountains are not available but water bottles will be refilled by staff as needed.
• Outdoor/Water Play – Please bring a beach towel, swimsuit, and change of clothes (including socks and shoes) every day.
• Dress for the weather - We will be spending time outside every day (weather permitting). Summer weather can be unpredictable, so please dress your child in clothing and shoes appropriate for outdoor play including a raincoat if necessary
•  Lunch & Two (2) Snacks - Please send your child to camp with a lunch and 2 snacks in an insulated lunch box (with an ice pack if needed). We are unable to warm up food or provide refrigeration. Cheese pizza is available for lunch every Friday but you are welcome to send a packed lunch that day.
• Sunscreen - Please put sunscreen on your child and send a labeled bottle of sunscreen in daily AS WE WILL BE OUTDOORS FOR ACTIVITES.
• WE ARE A NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT! Please do not send any nut products in with your child’s lunch or snack.
• Comfort Items – Please send in a clean blanket and pillow at the beginning of the week. It will be returned on Friday at the end of the camp session. Please DO NOT send in any treasured/valuable items.
• Please clearly label EVERYTHING and inform us of missing items promptly. We are not responsible for missing items but will try hard to reunite you with them.

We will have daily rest time for approximately an hour after lunch. Please send in a blanket and one small stuffed animal if it will help your child relax. Children who no longer nap will have 15 minutes of quiet time and can play quietly for the remainder of the hour.

The Camp Emergency form is part of the online Registration process through RecDesk. If your child will bring an Epi-Pen or any other medication to camp, please register in the Medical Authorization Form program found under PROGRAMS in Recdesk. This program is to allow access to the necessary fillable form. A form is required for each medication brought to camp and a doctor’s note must be uploaded to complete the process.  This information is necessary to help your child enjoy the program to its fullest and to protect his or her health and safety.  All information will be kept confidential.  It is critical that information must be provided prior to the start of camp. Please note, this form is only valid for one year from physician’s date of signature. Please plan to update this form annually.

If your child is ill, please do not send him/her to camp. They will recover more quickly at home and will enjoy the camp more upon their return.  If your child is ill and cannot attend for the day, please notify us as soon as possible.  To report a sick child, please call the camp facility or follow notification instructions given by camp staff.

Please review the Leisure Services Emergency Form for each child in the RecDesk portal. Make sure emergency contacts are up to date and the child’s birthdate is correct. If your child requires medication at camp (epi-pen etc.), please enroll in the Medication Authorization Form program in RecDesk and make sure to upload your physician orders as instructed.
