Beachland Park
The 30-acre land was once part of Vine Hill Farm, an enormously successful dairy farm that put West Hartford on the map for its dairy production. The Beach Family donated this former dairy farm with a creamery building in 1932 to establish a public park. Thereafter, the site was developed to include playfields for children. In addition to a pool (built in 1936) it is the home of Beachland Pond, the John H. Carey baseball field, basketball courts, playgrounds and a picnic area shaded by mature trees. The pool and bathhouse were renovated several times (1956; 1972, 1980s and 2014-15).
