- Urban Tree Canopy Study - The Town of West Hartford’s 2025 Urban Tree Canopy Study provides a snapshot of tree canopy coverage in 2010 and in 2023, and documents tree canopy loss during that timeframe. The data shows that canopy coverage in the net boundary experienced a sharp decline from 46% in 2010 to 37% in 2023 – a loss of approximately one-fifth of its tree coverage. This unsuitable range of decline poses significant environmental challenges for the Town.
