Rabbits
Westmoor Park’s rabbit shed houses around 10 domestic rabbits in a variety of breeds. Domestic rabbits originated from wild European Hare and still share many physical traits and behaviors with their wild cousins.
The different breeds of rabbits are usually distinguished by physical characteristics such as size, color, fur type, or even their ear size and positioning. For example, domestic rabbits can be over 15 pounds in size or under 3 pounds at their full adult size. They can have very short velvety fur or long hair that requires regular brushing to maintain and can be spun into yarn.
Of course, they are very cute and our rabbits are a popular program animal that we use during camps and other farm classes.
The pictures below show some of the variety of rabbits we have at Westmoor Park!
