Westmoor Park Summer Camp

We will be outside each day, rain or shine, so make sure your child is dressed in comfortable clothes appropriate to camp activities and the day’s weather. Bring a LABELED backpack with:

• Change of clothes
• Sunscreen (please apply daily prior to Camp)
• Insect Repellant (please apply daily prior to Camp)
• Close toed shoes, such as sneakers (required for the farm and nature walks)
• Comfortable hat (optional)
• Boots and raincoat (for rainy days)
• Food and drink: Insulated, labeled lunch bag with snack, drink and water bottle. No peanut or treenut products please.
• Bathing Suit and beach towel – Wednesday water games and slip-n-slide

Please clearly label all items and any clothing brought to camp.

Toys and personal items including cell phones, electronic games, iPods, trading cards, etc., must not be brought to camp. Westmoor Park is not liable for the maintenance of these items.

The Camp Emergency form is part of the online Registration process through RecDesk. If your child will bring an Epi-Pen or any other medication to camp, please register in the Medical Authorization Form program found under PROGRAMS in Recdesk. This program is to allow access to the necessary fillable form. A form is required for each medication brought to camp and a doctor’s note must be uploaded to complete the process.  This information is necessary to help your child enjoy the program to its fullest and to protect his or her health and safety.  All information will be kept confidential.  It is critical that information must be provided prior to the start of camp. Please note, this form is only valid for one year from physician’s date of signature. Please plan to update this form annually.

Westmoor Park offers unique, unparalleled outdoor Farm & Nature activities on the expansive 162 acres of our park. As such, it is imperative that the camp staff know of any special needs, health or behavioral issues or concerns related to your child. Prior to your child’s first day of camp, please discuss with our Camp Director in detail any potential issues so that we can partner with you to make sure your child has the best experience possible.

In the case of a weather emergency (ie, tornado or heavy thunderstorm), Campers will be moved to safe locations, and parents contacted via email.  Camp activities or camper pick-up will resume when local emergency officials deem the situation safe.  In the event of a weather emergency that closes Camp, families will be notified via email as soon as the decision is made.

Please review the Leisure Services Emergency Form for each child in the RecDesk portal. Make sure emergency contacts are up to date and the child’s birthdate is correct. If your child requires medication at camp (epi-pen etc.), please enroll in the Medication Authorization Form program in RecDesk and make sure to upload your physician orders as instructed.

Every week, we will be collaborating with the Fern Street Backpack Program to provide food for West Hartford students over the summer.  Food donations will be picked up every Thursday morning.
