WHPD has come a long way since 1959 when our first female officer, Arlene Bosner, was hired. We are proud to say that today we have 17 female police officers in supervisory ranks, specialized divisions and units, and on patrol. We also have 2 female animal control officers, 10 female public safety dispatchers, 2 female administrative assistants, and 5 female Records Division personnel including one female supervisor. Over 25% of the working force here at the police department are females. We are grateful to the women who blazed the path for our current officers and appreciate all the hard work of our female employees.
