Electronics Recycling

West Hartford accepts e-waste at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center with a valid Yard Waste and Recycling Permit that can be purchased online.

Take 2 Inc. a Connecticut based recycling company provides a container at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center for residents to drop off their unwanted electronics for recycling.

Under the residential electronics recycling program, residents can bring their computers, monitors, televisions, VCR’s, DVD Players, PDA’s, copiers, microwaves, telephones, and other small appliances to the Town’s Yard Waste and Recycling center. Items not accepted under the residential electronics recycling program include smoke detectors, hazardous materials and liquids, and air conditioners.

The Yard Waste and Recycling Center is located at 25 Brixton Street. Hours of operation are:

Monday - Friday:  8:00AM -3:00PM 
Saturday: Open April - December, 7:00AM - 12:00PM.
Closed on Saturdays January - March
Closed Sunday

Closed for the following holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.

Take 2 Inc. has a team that ensures that all the equipment is assessed for reuse and recycling. Assets that have reuse potential are tested, data is destroyed and all asset tags or identifying marks are removed, prior to being sold or donated for reuse. All non-functioning and obsolete equipment is recycled using globally accepted best management practices.
