Yard Waste Curbside Collection

Town of West Hartford offers residents a biweekly way to remove yard waste. The program runs April 5 through October 31. Yard waste collection will be on the same day as recycling collection on the A-B schedule every other week.  Click here to find your recycling day.  Click here for the A-B schedule. 

Yard waste should be placed in 30-gallon biodegradable leaf bags and placed at the curb on the same day as your recyclables. Brush must be cut to four-foot lengths, tied and bundled.

Residents also have the option to purchase a 96-gallon cart for yard waste. The cart is the equivalent of three, 30-gallon bags. The cost to purchase the cart is $90.00 and residents own and maintain their carts. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. Click here to order your yard waste cart.

All acceptable material (listed below) must fit inside the cart.  The cart lid must be closed for collection.  The carts are for yard waste only.
